Liverpool target Barcola: Initial talks begin for €100m transfer
Liverpool have focused on strengthening their winger department this summer. Following suggestions by Anfield Watch, initial talks have taken place with Barcola's camp, according to TeamTalk. The 23-year-old French winger, who has a contract with PSG until June 2028, is said to cost around €100 million.
British media sources have revealed that Liverpool are preparing for a major transfer this summer. Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barkola is in early talks over a deal worth around €100m, according to a report from TeamTalk.
After last season's disappointing performances under Arne Slott, the Anfield club needed new blood with several notable departures. The loss of Luis Diaz in 2025 in the wide area, followed by the departure of Mohamed Salah, is expected to reduce the attack sharpness on the left-right flanks, especially in the wide area. Barcola became the main target to fill this vacancy.
Anfield Watch revealed in April that Liverpool were eyeing Barcola as a real possibility this summer. Now according to TeamTalk, initial discussions have taken place on behalf of the player. At the same time, sources in France say that Barcola has signaled to leave PSG for a longer first-team opportunity. But it's clear that getting him won't be cheap—the estimated price is around 100 million euros.

The 23-year-old Barcola joined Paris Saint-Germain from Lyon in 2023 and shone with 14 goals and 11 assists in 38 matches in the 2025/26 season. His role was instrumental in the Ligue 1 title win, as well as leading the team to the European knockout stage. With this form, he got a place in the League 1 team of the year.
On the international level, Barcola is currently with the France team in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign in North America. He was named in the final squad selected by Didier Deschamps. Barcola, who impressed with a stunning individual goal in the recent warm-up against Chile, looks set to be a strong contender for a winger spot in the first team. His contract with PSG runs until June 2028.
If this transfer to Liverpool does materialise, it could be seen as a classy appointment to bring back attacking enthusiasm in the wide lines. But with the price tag so high, it remains to be seen whether the talks will go to the next stage and what PSG's stance will be.
